Energy drinks being popular among athletes isn’t something really noticeable. Well, they do need the extra energy they can get, but for them being consumed by children is something that really needs attention. There have been numerous studies that delved into this issue that points out to energy drinks health concerns that parents should be wary of.

The main concern for these products is the alarming volume of caffeine that is in the content of energy drinks. While doctors recommend caffeine consumption of 300mg, some energy drinks actually have caffeine content that goes well beyond this recommended figure. Too much consumption of caffeine can cause jitters, restlessness, nervousness, increased heartbeat insomnia and etc. which can lead to serious, even life-threatening symptoms.

So if you know you have an active kid who engages in routine physical activity, plain water, enough rest and abundant sleep is still the best way to maximize their energy capacity.
